A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Future: Twists and Turns and Lessons Learned

Michael J. Fox abandoned high school to pursue an acting career, but went on to receive honorary degrees from several universities and garner the highest accolades for his acting, as well as for his writing. Fly tying with David Strawhon – Killer Damsel Fly Nymph

My version of a Damsel nymph. This fly will catch you fish from Early Summer into late Autumn. The most common mistake that people make when tying Damsel nymphs is they either tie it on a 4x long shank hook then put a marabou tail on it the same length making the overall fly about 2-2.5 inches long looking more like a streamer or lure than a nymph imitation. The natural is only around one inch long and the larger ‘lures’ wont catch damsel fly nymph feeding trout. I hope it works for you, It is best fish in the margins, close to the bank.
